The fashion media have been abuzz about how Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, prefers to reuse her old clothes even during special events. This pragmatic fashion sense was very noticeable during her nine-day tour of Canada, which has endeared the princess to the masses.
This fashion repeat was recently highlighted when Princess Kate attended the yacht party for Zara Phillips, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, and at her wedding wearing clothes she had already worn.
One of Kate Middleton’s favorite things to wear is this brocade coat by Jane Throughton. She was first spotted wearing this coat at a wedding in London on August 2009. Two years later, she wore the same coat at a celebration for Prince Philip’s 90th birthday on June 2011, which she paired it with a Zara dress and L. K. Bennett shoes. Fashion observers have even exclaimed that Princess Kate has even re-worn dresses and coats that even date back to 2006.
Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe comments: “I think that just makes her so much more human and approachable. Like, I just went into my closet and grabbed this pair of skinny jeans, little jacket and left. And I think that’s great…”
